Instrumentation
In the section ANM is a wide range of devices. From basic mechanical operations such as crushing and milling using hydraulic press (including powder pellets for sintering experiments) and ball mills, on classical mesh analysis through the sifter (also wet screening up to 5 micron), to the cutting of samples with the help of saws.
Furthermore we can realise supercritical drying of nanoporous samples.
In the melt and sinter laboratory samples are prepared. There they are thermally treated by high temperature furnaces (until 1750 °C).
The chemical laboratory is used with priority for corrosion tests (statically/dynamically) at glass and building materials.
Furthermore become there syntheses (inorganic gels; hydrothermal syntheses) as well as the drying of water-containing materials (e.g. clear fire prevention materials) does. In addition different dry cupboards, special stoves, a climate cupboard (-40 - 180 °C), a coating arrangement (dip – coating), a rotation evaporator and autoclaves (to 450ml) are available to us.
The analytic area of the section ANM is covered as follows: :
- thermo analysis (DTA/DSC),
- UV/VIS spectroscopy,
- dilatometer (e.g. to determine the transformation temperature of glass according to DIN ISO 7884-8:1998-02),
- volume dilatometer,
- pyknometer,
- capillary viscosimeter,
- falling sphere viscometer,
- thermal gravimetric analysis,
- volumetric analyses,
- ion-selective electrode,
- pH measuring instruments
- testing of gypsum according to DIN EN 13279-2:2004-10.
