Medical Physics Info Day July 30, 2025

To give you the opportunity to explore the course of study and our institute, we would like to invite you to an information event on Wednesday, July 30th in our lecture hall building on our Heide-Süd campus (Google Maps   ). The parking lot and a tram stop are right in front of it (stop Straßburger Weg, from the main station directly with line 2 in the direction of Kröllwitz every 15 minutes, journey time 20 minutes).

Preliminary program

Starting at 10:00 AM

  • Welcome and introduction to physics at Halle and our “Medical Physics” degree
    program.
  • Cochlear implants, evoked potentials, and more: The medical physicist in the ENT
    clinic (a graduate of our program will report from the ENT clinic at Halle University
    Hospital).
  • The student council introduces itself: Information about student life, housing,
    etc.
  • Lunch at the cafeteria at your own expense (student prices).
  • Coffee break & tour of the Biophysics and Magnetic Resonance research labs.
    Students and graduates of our program will be present to lead the tour, talk about
    their studies and work, and most importantly, be available to answer any questions.
    The medical physicist in a traditional field: Tour of radiation therapy (CT, linear
    accelerator, treatment planning) at our university hospital.

End around 4:00 PM

  • Optional: “Hallenser, Halloren, Halunken” … guided tour through the city center
    of Halle
    End around 5:00 PM

Of course, you are free to skip individual parts of the program (e.g., to catch a
train); please indicate this when registering.
